The Place

Where a school
became a home

Villa Irene Langhe was once the elementary school of Pensoglio, a tiny hamlet on the hills of Monforte d'Alba. Built in the 1950s, it sat quietly for decades — until architect Lara Spano of LATO51 Studioarchitettura reimagined every room.

The result is a house that honors its past while offering something rare: tall windows opening onto the Barolo vineyards, a panoramic loggia, an outdoor stone stair lit from within — and a curated collection of design pieces, art and lighting that turn each room into its own quiet stage.

No reception desk. No lobby. Just space, silence, and the landscape.

The Langhe

UNESCO heritage,
one glass at a time

The Langhe is one of Italy's most celebrated wine regions — home to Barolo, Barbaresco, and an ancient culture of slow living. The landscape is UNESCO-protected, the restaurants are legendary, and the pace is deliberately unhurried.

From Villa Irene Langhe, you're minutes from world-class wineries, truffle hunts in autumn, and hilltop villages that haven't changed in centuries. But honestly — the view from the house might be the best thing of all.
